Background

My professional journey has been diverse and international. Currently based in Dublin, my role involves providing comprehensive support for the organisation and its employees, including the management team, technicians, and managers. I am multilingual, fluent in French, Turkish, and English, which has been immensely beneficial in my roles in international environments. Before joining The Project Foundry, I worked at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Airbus, and World Rugby, focusing on support and migration systems and hardware. This experience required a detailed understanding of various IT systems and processes, making it a challenging yet rewarding journey.

Role at The Project Foundry

As an Infrastructure Engineer in a cloud organisation, my primary responsibility is to design, implement, and manage the infrastructure supporting cloud-based applications and services. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the cloud infrastructure is robust, scalable, and secure, enabling the organisation to deliver high-quality services.

My responsibilities include; designing cloud architecture, automation, performance monitoring, security and compliance, disaster recovery, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Motivation

My motivation stems from my love of technology and continuous learning. Regular participation in development courses, webinars, and engagement with the cloud computing community keeps me informed about the latest advancements and best practices in technology.

Personal and Professional Evolution

My journey has been a blend of continuous learning and diverse professional experiences, shaping both my personal and professional growth. From starting in customer-focused roles to advancing to technical analyst positions at companies like Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Airbus, each step has contributed to my evolution. Personally, being fluent in French, Turkish, and English and pursuing diverse educational paths reflects my commitment to lifelong learning and versatility.

Work-Life Balance:

Balancing my demanding career and personal life is a challenge I navigate through effective time management and setting clear boundaries. Meticulous planning, technology utilisation for efficiency, regular exercise, engaging in hobbies, and continuous learning outside of work are essential for my well-being. Mindfulness and self-reflection help me assess my work-life balance regularly, and maintaining strong social connections is crucial for overall happiness and fulfilment.

Misconceptions

A common misconception is that IT support roles are solely about resolving immediate technical issues. However, the role is more proactive, involving anticipating potential problems, improving systems, and implementing preventive measures to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Passions

I am particularly passionate about the challenge of solving complex technical problems. The process of diagnosing and resolving issues in dynamic environments like cloud computing or sports technology is incredibly fulfilling. It’s not just about fixing a problem; it’s about understanding it fully, considering its impact, and finding solutions that optimise system performance.

Delivering Value to Clients

Delivering value involves understanding client needs, leveraging technical expertise, and applying diverse experiences to provide adaptable and scalable solutions. For clients using our cloud services, the benefits include specialised expertise, cost-efficient solutions, scalability, security, collaboration, reliable data backup, disaster recovery, continuous updates, and the ability to focus on core business activities.

On a personal note

Something surprising about me, considering my professional life in IT, is my profound passion for extreme sports. Parachuting and scuba diving provide a unique sense of freedom and exhilaration, connecting me with nature beyond the confines of technology. These activities are more than hobbies; they are a vital part of my life that keeps me grounded and enriches both my personal and professional life.
