We are looking for a Head of Programme and PMO to join our Delivery Leadership Team. This role will focus on the delivery of services to our clients in accordance with our commitments and statements of work and on supporting our teams across multiple clients. The Project Foundry has substantially grown its portfolio of blue-chip clients across the finance, technology, telecoms and, aviation sectors and we have an aggressive strategy to continue our growth trajectory.

As a result of our expanding client base, we are looking for a Head of Programme and PMO to join our team to successfully manage the existing and new clients. Our ideal colleague will have a diverse Programme Delivery and PMO skillset and will have worked across multiple industries. Flexibility and adaptability are key attributes needed for success. You will have deep multi-vertical knowledge and experience, understand the challenges confronting the economy, and maintain knowledge of multiple different business functions, up-and-coming technologies, and mixed methodologies.

Your core responsibilities will include managing client engagements, pre-sales support, and leading a diverse delivery team, managing performance and capacity, and there will be times when you need to roll up your sleeves and manage a programme or complete scoping sessions with our clients, and at other times you will stand in for the Professional Services Director.

Responsibilities

Plan

  • Be responsible and accountable for the quality of client services and contracted deliverables to assigned client(s) across Programme, PMO and PPM engagements, ensuring we are delivering in the Project Foundry Way
  • You will manage the programme and project teams and the PMO and PPM leads, supporting continuous planning and growth in the 3 areas
  • Plan and manage the daily processes and the effective utilisation of resources working closely with the Talent Management Team on resource requirements to fulfil pipeline
  • Continuous improvement and implementation of our governance model into all clients
  • Assist with planning and management of all relevant project work – Responsible for ensuring the

    PM’s have the correct project scope, schedule, budget and risks

  • Work closely with sales and commercial:
    • Being accountable for delivery solutions for new and closing opportunities
    • Handover from sales into Delivery
    • Standing up of new engagements
    • Commercial success of each project and client engagement
  • Bring existing contacts/clients where possible, leverage your existing network for new opportunities
  • Coach and mentor team members and plan out annual Driving Success strategies and training plans for each team member

Execute

  • Develop, implement managed delivery models with the Professional Services Director to maximize synergies between projects and clients
  • Oversight of the purpose and status of all projects in our portfolio and use this oversight and skills to support project-level activities to ensure client goals are achieved
  • Identify issues and problems in service delivery and carry out necessary corrective action keeping team and senior leaders informed of the issue
  • Ensure that Key Performance Indicators are produced and dispatched as required
  • Ability to influence decisions and facilitate change management through collaboration and leadership. Must also be able to act as a liaison between business and technology groups, to ensure that business needs are met with appropriate technology solutions
  • Managing a portfolio with diverse and complex issues both technical and non-technical
  • Providing Internal and Client stakeholders with accurate reporting
  • Develop client engagement strategies with commercial team and execution plans to ensure all vital business relationships are robust
  • Complete statements of work as required and support new business opportunities

    Deliver

    • Perform and/or monitor quality and internal controls for all team deliverables
    • Always push the boundaries to create unique world-class Programme, PMO and PPM delivery capabilities leveraging emerging technology
    • Set and maintain standards of personal and professional performance/behaviour; ensuring staff accountability and adherence to company policies and procedures
    • Establish deep trust and strong relationships with all clients, third parties and colleagues communicating effectively through formalised reporting and ad hoc liaison
    • Continuous Improvement is paramount to The Project Foundry and our clients – own the retrospective process.
    • Work with Professional Services Director and the CPO when skills gaps (hard and soft skills) are apparent and create professional development plans to meet the needs of all reports.
    • Responsible for the governance and quality of projects/programmes
    • Responsible for the project, PMO and programme processes and methodologies
    • Responsible for the rollout of improved methodologies and working with the Professional Services and PPM/PMO lead to ensure common ways of working are adhered to via governance
    • Risk and issue management in conjunction with multi-functional project teams

    • Degree or relevant qualification
    • Project Management qualification/ certification
    • 5+ years of Senior Programme Management consulting experience and Professional Services experience preferable
    • Proven team leadership and strong influencing skills at all levels
    • Coaching, mentoring and advising Team members and contractors
    • Strong commercial acumen
    • Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence using strong interpersonal skills
    • Experience in creating tenders and proposals, excellent attention to detail and presentation skills
    • Excellent customer service skills, which enable successful collaboration with exec stakeholders
    • Problem solver, decision maker and strategic thinker
    • Possess a high degree of flexibility
    • Ability to maintain a ‘Big Picture’ orientation within detail-orientated projects
