We are looking for a Financial Accountant

We are currently looking for a Financial Accountant to coordinate The Project Foundry’s Finance and Business Planning processes and reporting. The ideal will have an accounting qualification and experience combined with a keen interest in business planning and management information.

The financial Accountant oversees the accounting, implementation and monitoring of key business processes and controls across the business. The ideal candidate should have the ability to solve complex problems and be a critical thinker. Someone who is comfortable dealing with all levels within the business and has the ability to present and articulate key financial information to non- finance stakeholders

Excellent attention to detail is needed but also a strategic thinker who understandsthe nuances of the accounting process alongside helping the business achieve it’s short- and long-term goals. Someone who understands the operations of a Professional Services business. The Financial Accountant will help execute complex accounting transactions, reducing time closing books and enforcing internal controls and company policies. This role provides significant exposure to the companies COO, CFO, and executive team.

Responsibilities

Plan

  • Provide leadership and direction with accounts administration and deal with issues with a hands-on approach.
  • Responsible for co-ordinating key program and project financials both internal and client facing
  • Preparation of monthly accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Co-ordination of Budget, Forecast and Invoicing processes

Execute

  • Prepare weekly financial reports including forecasting of profits, cash, and payroll.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts including Profit and Loss Account, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow as well monthly detailed reconciliations on notes to accounts.
  • Oversee the accounts team ensuring financial ledgers are maintained and monthly accounting processes are followed.
  • Manage budget analysis and expenses analysis and reconciliation
  • Manage relationships with external and internal auditors, tax advisors, and other professional advisors.
  • Provide business analysis to improve processes, productivity, and performance, and support effective decision making.

 

Deliver

  • Provide financial support and analysis to CEO, COO and Practice Leads
  • Ensure a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets, improve operations and profitability
  • Ownership of revenue reconciliation.
  • Evaluating, developing, and improving department controls, systems, and procedures that increase accuracy, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Co-ordination responsibility for the implementation of new financial and operational systems and subsequent MI

 

Sounds good? What do you need?

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • 2-3 years+ post qualification experience
  • Good understanding of the regulatory reporting environment in Ireland
  • Experience managing forecasting, billing, and expense process etc.
  • Ability to work autonomously and can plan, co-ordinate and deliver results in an agile manner
  • Demonstrated experience of delivery to tight reporting deadlines and managing competing priorities.
  • Experience preparing executive level reporting and MI
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
